    That list is yours? I thought you were modifying someone else’s (I probably didn’t read carefully enough). I liked some of it, hadn’t read half of it, found a few I wasn’t wild about. What’s with all the Virginia Wolfe? And the Brontes and what’s her name?

  4. Someone must have SERIOUSLY overstated Prodigal Summer. I read it because I love Kingsolver. I wasn’t at all disappointed. In fact, I learned quite a bit about predator/prey dynamics along the way.

    I agree with you on the DV Code and Prodigal Summer. They exemplify mediocrity.

    jd: The list is mine. One of my not-so-secrets as a math teacher is that I studied English for quite awhile. So, yeah, I love Virginia Wolfe and the Brontes and what’s her name, too. You could think of it as akin to loving the mathematical work of Cantor.

    Mags: I’m not wild about memes; they smack a little too much of chain mail for my craw. But since it was you, I will take it under serious consideration.
